Since the story of Going The Distance revolves around a band, music plays a big part of the movie. Originally I was referred to Bart by my Co-Writer, Steve Wilent. I had seen Bart perform before and was impressed. Working from his own studio in Scappose we co-produced what I believe is an awesome soundtrack for the limitations we had to work with, mainly my limited budget and time. Bart practically played every instrument heard on the soundtrack. He was also the male voice behind Jason's singing voice.

Bart is truly a wonder boy. I brought him some music as examples, the rest he came up with himself. He was also very receptive to lyrics I'd written for a couple of the songs. I did this with "Someday We'll Be You" (the first song performed in the movie), and " Learning Now" (with Stephanie Smith handling vocals). He'd take what I had, finesse it and make it into a song. It was truly incredible to see it materialize. Following is the soundtrack order as it will be on the CD. There are five downloadable music samples in the MP3 format.
