1. How did you get involved with the project?

Actually it was a good friend of mine, Chris Bresky, who ended up playing the role of Phil. He called me up and asked me to audition with him. He said it would be cool if we both got the leads and acted with each other. Well what do you know... look what happened!

2. What was the audition process like and what was it like to be chosen to do a movie?

The audition was very different. Different than stage I mean. There was a camera video taping me, so at first I didn't know if I was suppose to look at the camera, look out into space, or look at the marvelous director. Auditioning for movies seems more intimate, because when you audition for a play, usually you're out on stage and you have all this space surrounding you. And when you're on film, you're in a room, like a classroom or something. It was an honor being chosen to do a movie. I also had no idea what I was getting into. That was the exciting part about it I think.

3. What did your friends and family say? How did they react?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Congrajulations! They made a big deal about it. That's why I keep a cool head and stay humble about things like that, because I just let them go brag about it and let the whole world know.

4. How did you approach your role? What did you learn from playing the part?

I felt Jason had a lot of things going on inside of him that you couldn't see on the outside. That's why he seems mysterious in ways. Intensity and passion were the first things I thought about him. And as I play different characters, the more I learn about different kinds people. People with different personalities and such. It gives me a better idea of what it's like to be in another person's shoes.

5. Can you identify with the character? If so, how?

I can honestly say that I have never been a character that was so much like me until this one. I am like Jason in a lot of ways. It's almost scary. The way he goes about things. The intimate discussions he has with women, his temper, his sadness, his passion, and his intensity. Wow. I guess I could go on and on. But one thing I don't get about him and I wish I could be able to do what he does. How in the heck is he so smooth with the ladies? rrrrrrrr.

6. What was it like working on a movie set?

Do you have any memorable stories? My first day of filming, I was just blown away. I didn't expect to see what I saw. There was a jib, which is a sort of crane thing that holds the camera and takes sky shots and swings all over the place. There was all this equipment. It felt like I was in a major motion picture. Probably the best memorable story I have is the first band scene where we are all rocking out. I got to jam with two of my buds together on stage. Chris Bresky and Michael Olson. I'll never forget it.

7. What do you think the movie communicates to teens today?

The movie is full of choices. You can make the wrong ones or the right ones. It depends on however which way you look at it. When you have a relationship, you can go down the road of caution and morals to be safe and lead a good fulfilling relationship with the person you are with, or you could go down the other road, which leads to intimacy, but remember the consequences that can occur. I think teens will look at the movie in different ways, different aspects which is sort of interesting. And I think it will affect them in the choices they make in the future when they are in relationships.

8. How important was Phil and Jason's friendship, and how do you think it helped?

I think everybody needs a friend who is having hard times. Friends are part of the reason that help get you out of those hard times by supporting you, because a good friend will always be there.

9. What would you tell teens that want to get into the movie business today?

If you have a video camera, grab some of your friends and practice filming goofy videos or what not. Try out for community plays. Get into some acting classes and further more, see what kind of things are out there to audition for and get an acting teacher or coach to tell you about how to go about getting an agent. As far as independent films go, keep your eyes open. They're out there.

10. What will you take away with you from the experience?

I will always remember some of the discussions that went on about directing and paying attention to detail in a scene. For the most part, learning how to direct and organization for a movie. I not only want to act professionally some day, but I would like to direct and produce as well.
