Day Thirteen! This stuff is getting pretty old hat. The actors were so relaxed and ready to get into it. This day we shot at New Song Church, which comprised of the bathroom scene for the dating montage, Mr. Seaver's offices, and the concert hall for the ending montage. Here, Stephanie and Chris joke around next to Rick's grip truck.
Tyson and Michael relax in the lobby. Though we have "Eric" dress kind of weird, Tyson was stylishly dressed most of the time. It helps when you work at The GAP.
Even for a simple shot such as this, the restroom, Rick creates cool lighting.
"Hey, Shawn. Come over here and take a picture of us." Chris called. I didn't know what to expect, but he and Jacob had worked out their 'mean' look. Actually, I thought it was pretty good. Shelbi and Stephanie sit on the bench in the background talking.
And here they are. The two of them talk all the time. What started as an on-screen friendship had developed into a real friendship off screen. Shelbi had brought it up before, she was glad Stephanie was cast with her, they seemed to hit it off from the start.
The Women's Restroom. I was in there to record the girls scream that happens in the scene and decided to snap a picture of them. I noticed that there was this real casual/fun sense on the set that day. The hardest shooting was done, and this was just plain fun.
Okay, the guys get a look... Why not us? At least this what was going through Stephanie's mind. Shelbi did this "dating service interview" thing and I rolled because it was so funny. It made the out-take reel. By the way, she wanted to marry an older man with a lot of money.
It was tight quarters to get the shot we wanted. The idea of the scene was for them to come piling into the shot to the door of the restroom, which is just to the left. Rick had all of his lights and flags (which block light) everywhere. As usual, he pulled it off.
A creative angle shot. The four of them had to cram into that other corner and then virtually come running into frame.
